Hi, I’m Anna-Lee,
A qualified positive dog trainer & adventurer.
Based in Poole, working across Dorset.
Dogs have been part of my life from the very beginning. I was born into a home with two Dobermans, spent weekends as a child around another pair of high-energy Dobermans at my mum’s workplace, later fell completely in love with a re-homed Dachshund called Rolex — a small dog with a huge emotional radar who always seemed to know exactly when to sit beside me — and now share life with Stanley, our Border Terrier cross who keeps me honest about arousal, rest and real-world training.
Dogs have always made sense to me.
Now I help them make sense to their owners.
There was a point in my life after a diagnosis of C-PTSD where I realised I wanted to build something meaningful and properly grounded in evidence. Not casual. Not surface level. Not half-in.
That decision is why I invested in many professional qualifications, mentorship, and ongoing professional education.
Because dogs deserve ethical trainers who know what they’re doing.

Through ongoing mentorship with Adam Daines of Avon Dog Services (known for Channel 4’s Bad Dog Academy), I’ve been able to learn and shadow behaviour training, refine reinforcement timing, deepen my understanding of behavioural science, and strengthen my training mechanics and owner-coaching skills.
Not just theory. Applied learning.
No gimmicks.
No “alpha” BS.
No magic fixes.
No prong collars.
No shock collars.
No intimidation dressed up as “leadership.”
Dogs learn best through clarity and reinforcement — not force, fear, or intimidation.
No BS.
Behaviour isn’t personal.
Dogs show behaviours that don’t always align with human lifestyles.
When we understand the why, we can change the how.
Often they’re under-fulfilled & missing:
- Appropriate outlets
- Consistency and predictability
- Opportunities to problem solve
- Space to regulate
- The chance to actually be dogs
When those needs are met properly, behaviour changes.
Not because we suppressed it.
Because we understood it.
I’ve also been the person questioning my life choices at 6pm with a wild Border Terrier cross puppy who absolutely refused to switch off.
In hindsight? Stanley didn’t need “more exercise.”
He needed help learning to switch off.
That experience shaped how I look at arousal, regulation and sleep in dogs now.
I understand — I’ve been there.
How I Work
Whether it’s 1:1 dog training or structured Adventure Train & Play sessions, the goal is always the same:
Build skills that hold up in real life.
Not just in a quiet kitchen.
Not just in a training hall.
But outside, where distractions, movement and unpredictability exist.
When we work together, your dog learns to:
Think
Regulate
Explore safely
Build confidence
Channel natural instincts appropriately
And you get a dog who’s easier to live with.
- Want more than “just a walk”
- Want training that works in real life, not just in a class
- Care about your dog’s emotional wellbeing
- Have active, thinking, high-energy or sensitive dogs
- Prefer honest, straightforward training that lasts
I’m not your person if you want:
- Quick behaviour supression
- Harsh methods
- Someone to simply “tire your dog out”
- An ego-centric social media trainer
