FAQs

1:1 Dog Training FAQs

What can you help with?
I can help with a wide range of training and behaviour challenges, including but not limited to:

• Recall & off-lead reliability
• Pulling on the lead / loose lead walking
• Jumping up & overexcitement
• Lack of focus or engagement
• Confidence building (nervous or unsure dogs)
• Settling at home or in public
• Life skills for real-world situations

I also incorporate confidence building activities like dog parkour, enrichment and structured play to help dogs feel more capable, engaged and balanced.

Training is always tailored to your dog after we assess their needs, your lifestyle and your goals, it’s not a one-size-fits-all plan.

Yes absolutely! Training is reward-based, ethical and focused on building clear communication and trust between you and your dog.

I do not & will not use prong collars, e-collars, shock collars, rattle cans, anti-bark devices, citronella collars or sprays in any form.

Across Poole and Dorset.
Training is generally started at home where the dog feels safe & comfortable before we take it out on walks or in real-life environments depending on what we’re working on.

Every dog is different & the more you put in outside of sessions the quicker you’ll see progress, most people see progress within the first few sessions. I’ll guide you on the best plan after your initial consultation.

Yes, depending on your goals, I offer both dog training with the owner or hands-on training without.

Some dogs benefit from me doing the initial training to build clear foundations, especially for things like recall, confidence or focus.

Where I do this, a handover session must be booked so you feel confident continuing the training and maintaining the results day-to-day.

For most cases, we’ll work together so you understand exactly what to do and get long term on-going success.
